Nope- both Ford guideplates as well as aftermarket sometimes need work, 
depending on the combination of parts you use, how much the head castings have 
been surfaced, etc. 
Aftermarket rocker pivot studs have also given trouble to several people, 
so I always recommend using Ford/SVO as a parts source, and expect to do a 
little "adjusting" on valvetrain geometry. There are no prizes for how fast 
one can assemble an engine, but there are certainly penalties.... and spending 
time to ensure this stuff is right sure pays off in the end. FWIW- J DeRyke
