[DeTomaso] ZF Rebuild

It's winter and I need another project.  Thinking about tackling a ZF rebuild in my garage.  Need to replace the ring/pinion and change out anything worn out.  Problably at least 2nd gear synchro as its been extra crunchy lately.   Anyone want to talk me out of trying it myself?  I live in Washington so shipping the box to CA or NV or wherever will cost $$$.  Plus it might be fun to tear it open.   Am I crazy?   Thanks, SeanM
