[DeTomaso] Flex Water Tube to water pump

When I dropped my Cleveland back in (this spring) the absolutely hardest
part of the job was getting that water tube. I agree with Mike that you
should KISS. The harmonic balancer could shred a flex line if something
jars it out of place.

I'd stay away from flex hose. It's flexible for a reason... it's
thinner wall and accordion shaped. The thinner wall could lead to
bursting under higher pressures and the accordion shape can lead to
trapped deposits. I also do not believe you can get flex-hose with
different sized ends, though I could be wrong here.

Yes, the hookups at the rear of the cabin, to the front of the engine
are a pain the rear, but with the proper transition tube and a nice
piece of Gates hose on each end gives -me- more peace of mind.

Now, with that said... if I can ever afford it, I'll probably go with
the electric pump mounted up front and do away with the mechanical water

pump altogether. That would necessitate replacing all the hoses
anyway. But that's in the distant future.

pieces of Gates rubber hose and clamps but I would like to use a
*better* idea if one exists.
