The case is VERY simple to identify.   It has a curved reinforcement cast 
into the top where the horizontal portion of the case mates with the angled 
portion which in turn bolts to the bellhousing.   Here's a direct side-on 
shot which shows how it is cast:

Note, this is 'top' in the Pantera orientation; it's 'bottom' in its 
original BMW, Mangusta and GT40 orientation.
