Yes under the headers.... which is why you need to buy the 20 feet of plug wire  to make up your own custom lengths.

If by "under" you mean under the headers, that's a great method. It allows 
one to pull the rocker covers and adjust valves 'hot' with the engine 
idling, without chancing getting a wire caught in a spring-coil or under a rocker 
arm. It also makes clean-ups easier. But you do need longer wires on some
