[DeTomaso] Optima: red, yellow, or blue

I took back a Red top to Summit Racing a couple months ago when the first cooler weather set in. It was just over a year old and I still even had the receipt. The counter guy turned to his buddy and said 'hey we got another one' and I said do you get a lot back, he replied it was the third one that day!

Summit gave me full $ credit to buy something different, however I am told that officially Optima are now only warranting a replacement battery from the original purchase date, not from replacement date.

I since purchased a couple of the CTEK smart chargers and keep them on charge all the time. In my experience if you have any type of parasitic loss then Optimas will last no time at all unless constantly trickle charged.

YMMV,

Julian
