I've been removing pounds of undercoating from The Beast this past month or two, to get down to bare metal and check and re-weld the suspension & frame connections.
It just takes a quick pass with a propane torch and the junk peels right off with a putty knife.
Getting the paint off with wire wheels was the real project.
