[DeTomaso] Undercoating removal

Ditto on the heat gun, too much smoke with the torch and you can modulate the temperature easier with the heat gun. Mineral spirits to clean up and a stronger thinner to remove residue. You can also use a wire wheel for certain places and it's not as messy as the thinner, but if you are starting off on the bulk of the undercoat, it becomes a very dirty job fast.  If you are going down to bare metal you can start off with the heat gun, then hit it with the wire wheel which will remove the residual undercoating and the white primer under the undercoat, then cleanup with thinner.
