Dear Forum,

It is very uncommon for Panteras to pop up for sale in Oklahoma
and when this never-before-seen Pantera appeared, it required an inspection.

Today, Jim Gray and Todd Reid and I met the seller's agent
and had a good look at the car. VIN is 3815 with 24243 miles on a preL
Pantera with its alleged original Sea Green or Sea Foam Blue. It is an
very uncommon factory color. The car is a garage queen reportedly driven
1200 (?) miles since 2007 when the current owner purchased it. It has been
restored and modified.

The paint may be the original color, but it has been well
repainted. Todd noted some "plastic" behind the drivers door and on the
other side also.

The body looks straight and in excellent shape. Body has the
small preL bumpers. The chrome quality is excellent. The glass is all in
excellent shape, but some of the windows are not original glass. The
original mirrors are in a box and the color coded aftermarket right and left
outside rear view mirrors are modifications.

Wheels & Tires: Michelins 245-40-17 and 335-35-17 on seventeen inch
style Campys. Wheels are without scuffs and dings.

The front trunk has an Optima battery, and aftermarket Lamb master
cylinder. The radiator is aluminum with two sucker fans and new relays.
The undersurface of the front hood is finished with the same quality paint
job as the rest of the car. Jim Gray says the radiator is half way
between an upright and laydown mount position. The headlights go up and
down and show an uncommon headlight modification with the original round
bulbs replaced with a large rectangular bulb. Same frog's eye height, but
it may put out more light. It is a nicely executed mod.

The interior is all in excellent shape. It does have non factory
blue green leather (?) inserts covering the center console. Nicely done.
There is a Kenwood stereo unit. All the gauges work and look good
cosmetically. There is a small aftermarket switch near the AC control that
is used for the aftermarket-behind the grill driving lights. There is even
an original or reproduction stock Pantera steering wheel in good condition
without cracks. The seats are reupholstered stock seats with Pantera sewn
into the upper part of the seatback. PreL style seatbelts. There has
been some modification of the normal electrical relay panel near the
driver's left knee. It is absent. The passenger side shows evidence of
good quality rewiring and a normal fuse box cover. Under the dash on the
passenger side is evidence of new evaporator valve and new duct tubing.
Oh, the passenger side door striker plate easily unscrewed and no rust was
visible in the area. The driver's side could not be unscrewed

The rear deck has a delta wing. The undersurface of the deck is
detailed. The original tub has been reupholstered and still uses the DZRS
(?) fasteners!! Beneath the tub is a nicely detailed drive train. The
engine has a new looking Holley on top of what looks like an Edelbrock
Torker manifold. Custom valve covers with Pantera in the same blue green
paint. Headers seem as large as GTS, but are not exactly GTS. The
exhaust exits through an Anza exhaust which has been used so little that the
decal is still attached and legible. The ZF appears to be painted gray.
There is a new AC condenser. There is a gas filler extension nicely
installed. There is a modified engine cover with a frenched in third brake
light nicely executed with a color coded blue green paint job on the engine
cover. The coolant bottles look good. The engine bay itself is well
detailed with smoothed (wiped?) spot welds and most of the welds near the
rear aspect of the ZF are smoothed also. The engine bay looks better than
stock. Oh, it had a new deck lid latch, too..and new struts to lift the
deck lid.

The wheels and tires appear nearly new. The brakes are JFZ
calipers on what appear to be larger vented and slotted rotors. The rear
sway bar is secured with Sphereballs. The general undersurface of the car
and suspension look as if the car was rarely driven.

In summary this is a nicely restored preL Pantera with all of
the usual upgrades. The craftsmanship appears quite good to me. The car
started immediately and idled. No test drive was done due to the inclement
weather. It did reverse out of the garage and return on its own power
without any problem. It comes with a space saver spare plus service manual.
This is a very nice Pantera.

                          Respectfully submitted, Chuck Engles
