Are you not interested in the Nc seats? Mine are great and offer both
great support and lightweight. Gary Herrig can provide a pair cheaper than
one Recaro, if you are tall or like me have a long torso (6 ft tall with
30" inseam), you simply remove the springs and gain enough head room for a
helmet. Michael Shortt

Dear Erik,
I did something like that twenty years ago. My Pantera then had
about 5000 miles on it and I wanted to keep it stock (gad, what a long, long
time ago that was....). I didn't fit the stock seats well. I obtained a
well used seat from Pantera Performance Center and took it to a local fellow
with a good reputation for custom seat upholstery. Apparently he had a
respectable resume in upholstering airplane seats for private planes. I
told him what I wanted and he proceeded to strip it to the bare frame and
begin from there by building in some lumbar support and a few other subtle
tweaks (remember the goal was to keep it looking stock even though it was
not). I specified a much thinner, high density seat foam for a thinner
seat to provide more headroom. The finished seat was excellent and fit me
much better than a stock seat. The cost twenty years ago was comparable to
buying a new standard Recaro seat........ FWIW.
Warmest regards, Chuck Engles
