I'd also say that if there were recurring problems, you would have  heard 
about it. 
 
There is, however, a more protected way to enjoy the easy check  out 
benefits of PayPal. When you use PayPal, you don't have to have the  funds taken 
directly from your checking account. I use my credit card, under  "other 
funding choices." That way I have all the recourse that using a credit  card 
affords me should there be a problem. Much stronger protection than having  the 
funds removed from a checking account.

I've probably done about 600-800 transactions with Paypal.   They have  
never abused or messed-up their access to my bank  account.
