Had a work truck years ago hat ran on propane. Often driven between
southern Mississippi and Indiana so long distance was not an issue. Like
was said, the bottom end last forever. 300,000k miles when the engine was
rebuilt and it didn't need it. Oil changes almost not needed at all.

Fun thing was when you run out of propane, it gives you some warning. Your
power becomes limited, then top speed begins to decay.

Number one problem was and is propane gas stations. If I had one close I
would do it in a heartbeat.
