[DeTomaso] good oil filter

Basically what is discussed in the article.
>From examining it you can feel the weight, see what the actual filter element is made of, and check out the anti-drainback valve material.  I avoid filters with cardboard inside or paper elements.

I use Baldwin filters in my Ferrari and Abarth because I have to special or mail order those anyway and I know they are excellent filters.  For the Pantera I just choose a quality filter-- If one brand is on sale that day I will get it rather than stick to one particular brand.

 I have used Purolator oil filters since I read a comparative report
admittedly several years ago) and I think I have a Pure-1 on my 351C right
ow.  The car is on the lift for winter storage right now but unfortunately
he label on the filter cannot be seen when looking from the bottom.   The
ilter can is yellow with a textured finish for better grip and I thought
or sure it was the premium Purolator filter.

 agree Chuck.  Wix makes the NAPA filter (NAPA #1515) so they're one and
the same and very high quality.  I also like the Purolator Pure-1 for my
Ford 4.6L motors but I don't think Purolator makes their higher-end "Pure-1"
version for the 351C.

I think it is hard to go wrong with the Ford Motorcraft Racing oil filter
FL1A, I believe is correct.

I understand that under it's new owners from several years ago, Fram's
quality went way down and has not improved. I would stay away from Fram
filters for your Cleveland

Wix and Napa oil filters # 51515R are good filters and are what I am using
now.
