[DeTomaso] good oil filter

I recently talked to a couple of the reuseable filter makers.  They aren't cheap, but may have one significant advantage for a Cleveland.  They claim the pressure drop across their filters is a lot less than the drop across conventional filters.  That would seem to be a really good way to get more oil flow without a high pressure or high volume pump that adds to the load on the distributor gear and pin.

If anyone has gone to one of these lately, according to the manufacturers, you should have seen higher oil pressure.

I just tore some new Frams apart last fall.      Bad.
The K&N HP-3001 seems pretty good.
The price varies a great deal though. $11 to $39

K&N HIGH PERFORMANCE GOLD OIL FILTER -- Canister type, 5.7 in. H, 1.6 lb
weight, 3.65 in. OD, 0.75 in. thread ID, 8-11 PSI relief valve; Includes
anti-drainback valve, and bypass valve; Developed for demanding race
applications that uses thicker canister walls for extra strength and
durability for reduced risk of damage from lose rocks and debris; Uses
cellulose media that traps 99 percent of harmful particles; High-flow
design helps reduce engine drag; Offers maximum filtering surface,
prevents filter collapse, eliminates dry starts, and leak-proof double
roll seam; Features sturdy 1 in. nut for easy removal, pre-drilled
safety wire attachment, and heavy-duty 5-gauge steel for extra
durability; With K&N limited warranty.

*Type:*
    Canister

*Part Number:* HP-3001
