I've thought for a long time that the GN Turbo v6 is the answer to
most car questions.

How about the Porsche 930 turbo transmission?

Since you have a Buick/Olds/Pontiac bellhousing pattern,  Kennedy
engineering made an adapter plate and clutch pack for the 215ci
aluminum Buick.
