Dunno--I didn't do it.   The entire engine was assembled when I received 
it.   If not, and if in fact that's the problem, then I'd say "lesson learned" 
and definitely do it now!

I suppose the problem could just be that the fuel pump fell apart.   It's 
certainly easier to check that!   If it comes out in pieces, we'll know for 
sure. :>)
