The 6th character of my car's serial number is a "P" signifying an April 73
car. The plastic data plate on the driver's B-pillar cracked and I was was
fortunate enough to collect the remnants. I put them in a bag and have run
across them from time to time but I can't seem to find them right now.
Regardless, mine seems to be an example of an April 73 car having and EGR
carb baseplate.

Where is the build date located? The body service # is 51308

You can decode the characters of the VIN. That tells you the month and
year the chassis was laid down. The car's completion date is normally the
following month, and is stamped on the white plastic tag riveted to the
driver's side doorjamb.
