[DeTomaso] NPC - How do Lava lamps work?

Lava lamps work by heat circulation within two liquids that are of different
densities and that do not mix, much like oil and water do not mix. The ones
in stores use a colored wax mixture and colored water (salt water, i
believe). The "lava" being the wax, is slightly denser and thicker than the
water. The light bulb at the bottom generates heat, causing the wax to
expand and be less dense than the water around it. being less dense, it
rises and as it gets away from the heat source, it cools by dispersing its
heat through the cooler fluid around it causing it to sinks back down and
start the cycle again.

I suppose you could make a 6 foot tall one if you got the density right and
could really heat up the bottom enough to make it rise 6 feet before cooling
enough to start sinking.
