Dear Forum,
This comes from the December 6, 2010 AUTOWEEK article on
page 39: A Bimmer to Beam About------now be patient and read along.
Excerpts: "On April 26, 1972, Phil Capossela's 200 hp 3.0 CSi
was born. But it wouldn't become his for another 26 years.
Capossela, a "certified car guy since birth," spent most of his career with
BMW. ...he retired to Hilton Head, S.C., where he has been chairman of
the Hilton Head Island concours for the last two years."
"Resprayed in its original Atlantik Blau, the car is correct down to its
complete tool kit. It shares Capossela's garage with his equally correct
1971 DeTomaso Pantera, 1960 Triumph TR3A, 1936 Ford cabriolet and 2007 BMW
Z4 M coupe."
It is nice to know that such a well placed gearhead favors the
Pantera. It is nice to know that someone values original condition
Panteras. Perhaps the peripatetic Profiles editor might put Mr. Capossela
on his list of Pantera personalities to interview. Perhaps the Atlanta
gang of Mike Dailey know this fellow.
FWIW, Chuck Engles
