Not so smart reply...

Mike, that sounds like an "idiot light" sender. The ones I have tested in
hot water changed resistance as the temp went up. Not in steps. Unless he is
telling you at this temp it will be this resistance??

Indeed--and choosing your sender carefully contributes a lot to that
process.

I talked with the BWD tech rep just now. Here are the specs for the two
suggested senders.

The WT324 closes at 100F and opens at 220F. At 100F it puts out 125 ohms,
and at 220F it puts out 17.12 ohms

The WT386 also closes at 100F and opens at 220F. At 100F it puts out 176
ohms, and at 220F it puts out 24.10 ohms.

So, will somebody translate that into plain English for me? :>)

I suspect that the 386 may be appropriate for use with a 10-ohm resistor
and the 324 for use without the resistor?

Smart people, speak up! :>)

Thanks!

Mike
