You might want to consider whether you even need an idler. The mount holes 
in the bracket are slotted so all it takes is a slightly shorter belt and 
some care in adjusting the whole compressor square with the crank pulley. This 
operation is far easier with a light aluminum rotary compressor than with 
the ancient iron York, though. I discarded my troublesome idler in the mid 
'80s- along with the York. FWIW- J DeRyke
