Another question--does it ONLY vibrate when the car is underway, or does it
vibrate in neutral?

If you can rev it in neutral with no vibration, then the problem lies
downstream, i.e. driveshafts.

Are you positive all the driveshaft bolts are tight? Even a little
looseness can result in tremendous vibration, apparently (I've never felt it, just
heard about it).

Did you happen to take the driveshafts apart, i.e. slide the splined female
portion out from the splined male portion? They have a specific
orientation, and if they are clocked at anything other than the perfect orientation,
the car will shake like a wet dog when underway.

Does the car shake under load?

Does it shake at speed, in neutral, at idle?

Accelerate to 60-70 mph, on a very straight length of road, put the car in
neutral, quickly turn off the key and then turn it to the first position (to
ensure the steering lock does NOT lock). Does the car shake at speed,
with the engine turned off?

All these things will help pinpoint the source.

Mike
