[DeTomaso] speaking of wheels falling off---

The car hitting a flying tire is a little different, simply because the tire went through the windshield.

If the car hit a tire head-on, it should be the same as hitting a brick wall - assuming the masses are the same.  In other words, if you hit a tire head-on that had the same kinetic energy as your car, it would be just like you hit a brick wall.

The tire going through the windshield would be the same as hitting a brick wall, but it would be in your face.  Not pretty.
