[DeTomaso] Carmel Valley road EAST to 101???

I did the same and agree. Interesting drive, watch for "Salamander Crossing", 
but slow going, some places the road was littered with rocks and IIRC was little 
better than a dirt road. But, that was about 8 or 9 years ago.

Has anyone driven out the backside of Carmel Valley (on Carmel Valley Road) over 

to Highway 101, where it comes out at Greenfield?

Good drive?  Good road?  Local traffic?  CHP presence?

Thinking of an alternate route home after this weekend's event.
