[DeTomaso] oil leak questions

Chris, you CAN fix this stuff with the engine still in the car and without 
disturbing the ZF. First, the pan will drop about 3" with the bolts out. 
That gives enough room to replace the front gasket corner with a blob of GOOD 
automotive RTV (I like Permatex, personally). This is not the stuff sold at 
Home Depot for house weatherstrip repairs.

The rear main seal can be replaced in the car but to do this, the pan must 
come completely off and you'll need a 0-150 ft-lbs torque wrench. So before 
you do what's necessary to remove the oil pan, be very sure its not just the 
back end of the pan gasket as seems to be the problem in the front. Good
