[DeTomaso] Original Spare Tire

This comes up about every 2 yrs. The OEM space saver spare was the subject 
of an official recall by the mfgr so that makes real originals show-car 
trunk-weights. Any wrecking yard sells later model collapsible spares that one 
can actually use in an emergency. Good tire shops can mount them on any wheel 
you'd like although its much more difficult to dismount one than to 
remount. If you've changed brake sizes, the OEM 14 x 6" spare wheel won't fit the 
car anymore. Finally, it takes different lug nuts for the OEM steel wheel 
than for the OEM Pantera magnesium wheel, and I'll bet that most don't carry 
old Ford lugnuts for that spare.
FWIW-, J DeRyke (who once actually had to use the stock collapsible spare 
and was glad all the parts were there, even if it did burn up the posi 
clutches in the ZF)
