My list:
U.S. Street versions (7 ea)
1)- '71 pushbutton (Viganale built prototypes)
2)- '71-early '72 pre-Ls
3)- '72-1/2 L (partial Ls built Sept 72- Dec 31 '72)
4)- '73-74 L (plus at least 10- '73 L models with '72 dual-pod dashboards)
5)- '73-74 U.S. GTS/L
6)- '80-88 GT-5 wide body
7)- 85-88 GT5-S

Euro street versions (4 ea)
1)- '71-87 GTS
2)- '80-87 GT5
3)- '85- 87 GT5-S
4)- '91-'92 Pantera SI
There were also a few prototypes - 2 having Capri V-6s that were eventually
factory-converted back to 351-C power & sold as Euro GTS. There may have
been a few more.

Factory Race Versions (4 ea)
1)- '71-79 Gr-3 street/club racer (some Gr-3s were later factory-converted
to Gr-4 and Gr-5)
2)- '72 GR-4 (8 only)
3)- '72 GT-4 (6 only)
4)- '75 & 77 GR- 4 Stradale (2 only)

And if you're thinking that where they were built counts as a variation,
then there were approx. 50 U.S/Canadian Amerisport GT5-S and about the same
number of GT-5-S built in Australia, both from bare body shells. All this is
in the original Van Ess DeTomaso Registry and Phillippe Olczyk's
'DeTomaso-Maccinia da Corsa' book where cars are listed by chassis number. With the
books mentioned, you can make your own list- my 2¢- J DeRyke
