That's some good sage advise Jack....Hopefully Michael and the Pope can pick up Circle Track and use that sage advise on their Miata and Corvette ;-)>

THere's a nice series of simple tips in Circle Track magazine on screw-ups 
real-racers still do. One is to add a remote oil filter and plumb it so the 
inlet for dirty oil is in the center of whatever filter you run, with clean 
oil coming from the outside. 

This is wrong! If plumbed this way, the filter area is vastly reduced and 
will rapidly become a restriction, starving the bearings of any oil- clean or 
dirty.

The dirty oil should be plumbed to the outside of the filter, with oil 
going thru it and coming out clean from the center. Check your flow orientation 
before you waste an engine.
