Besides Julian's suggestions on a latch, my unfinished design for a 'glas 
decklid uses ball-lock-pins in place of hinge pins for faster, easier decklid 
removal; no hammers and no realignment needed. These pins are even easier 
to incorporate if you're building your own hinges. FWIW- J DeRyke
