Wow, what a neat car! I'm curious--is that the original color? Lots of
Longchamps were made in gold-ish or brown-ish colors and they often had
two-tone brown interiors like yours.

One thing that Wikipedia doesn't mention is that Longchamps were made in
two distinct series, differentiated by the serial numbers. The first
production cars were in the 2000 series (you say yours is 2107, Longchamps started
with 2001 and only used odd serial numbers, making yours the 53rd one
built), then in 1979/1980 the chassis was changed and the cars VINS started with
3000. The 3000 cars had better weight distribution, as the engine was moved
rearward in the chassis about four inches, which required totally changing
the steering system. The Cam Gears UK rack was replaced with a ZF unit at
that time. The rear trailing link changed slightly as well.

The earlier cars like yours look much cleaner, with trim, understated
chrome bumpers. Although the cars are very heavy, they are blessed with
fantastic brakes and a really dynamite chassis. Matt Stone owned both a
2000-series Longchamp (#2111) and a Pantera L, and he quietly confessed that his
Longchamp was the better-handling car. One can only assume that the
3000-series cars were even better, although honestly you would probably have to drive
them back-to-back on a racetrack to notice any difference.

I've always wanted one, although I've never been able to justify buying one
(nor do I have the space for it, or the money for that matter!).

Good luck with your sale, and I hope it goes to a good home.

Mike
