Next time I have one apart I will try that.
 
This could be a good option when one needs repairs.
 
By adding a terminal to the back panel and adding a couple of  components 
it should be possible to trigger it off the  regular coil signal or the 12V 
ignition box tach signal.

I bypassed R9 to get the tacho to work with the 12V tacho signal from the  
EDIS ignition I'm using, and my guess is that this will work also with the  
MSD.


Not sure if C1 should be removed as well, but it appears to work  anyway.
