[DeTomaso] FUEL PUMP

At least one chromed mechanical fuel pump (don't remember the brand but it 
may have been a Holley) failed twice on one member's long road trip. The 
pivot axle was not well staked in the pump body and moved out, stopping the 
pump action. This happened twice in 3 days, and if you think replacing a 
Pantera oil filter is difficult, try removing, restaking and replacing a fuel pump 
in a blacktop parking lot with pliers and a crescent wrench. He finally 
made it back home- and replaced the pump! FWIW- J DeRyke
