Although the later two-pod dash came into being in January 1973, there was
a batch built in April 1973 using leftover two-pod dash components--dashes,
center consoles, heater/air conditioning boxes, etc. etc.
Nancy Haney has #5250, so-equipped, and Kris Hearne's #5261 also had that
feature. In all other respects, they followed the convention of the 1973
cars I believe (outside fuel filler etc.)
If you look in the Ford parts book, it gives a very explicit breakdown.
It's listed in the body section, page 3, part number 04320.
Among the L-models (which starterd with #4269), the cars 4269-4973 got the
two-pod dash, 4974-4978 got the single-pod dash, 4979-4985 got the two-pod
treatment, 4986-5209 were single pod, 5210-5217 were two-pod, 5218 got the
single pod dash, 5219-5283 were two-pod, and 5284 and all later cars were
single pod.
At least that's what the records show. It would be interesting to check
the registry to see how accurate that is.
