If you split the pushrod guideplates as Goran suggested, don't spend a lot 
of time trying to neatly weld them back together. In this case, the quicker 
the better to minimize heat input to the hardened plates- which won't weld 
well anyway. A MIG or a TIG is best for that reason. FWIW- J DeRyke
