Port stuffers are in the intakes. Exhaust port plates function the same but
are either stainless or cast bronze due to the very high temperatures. They
typically attach at the flange and simply have a 'tongue' that sticks into
the port to guide the hot high-speed gasses out into the pipes. The benefits
are less for exhaust plates than for intakes so don't expect miracles. I
can't tell from the photo whether these are 2V or 4V headers, but filing the
flanges to match the openings to the head ports is a good idea- just don't
completely cut thru the welds and cause a leak when doing this if they're 2V
types and you're trying to match them to 4V heads. Its true that most of the
flow is in the upper part of the exhaust ports, and even more so with port
plates. Good luck- J DeRyke
