[DeTomaso] Discolored front spindle

Thanks. There was plenty of grease, and was labeled as for disk brakes.
Can you or someone suggest a preferred grease to use in the front wheel
bearings.
Also, what would you suggest to buff the surface? I have some fine steel
wool.

Mike, shaft and inner race damage was caused by not enough or incorrect
grease that allowed wear that then caused static electricity to etch the
mating surfaces. Did check for bearing free play before you removed the
wheel? Your inner race may have spun slightly on shaft. Buff down the shaft
and use new bearings and check the other side for same. Do check for bearing
slop before you pull wheel so you have a reference point.
