Erik,
Yes.
Flip the gauge over on it's face and find the small notch in the back of
the bezel.
Using a small but strong screw driver pry the inner edge of the bezel up
and away from the body of the gauge. This takes a proper touch. Do not press
down on the gauge as this will put a load on the glass. Pry up and away
from the body of the gauge. Move around the gauge in small steps while prying
the edge of the bezel up and away. In my experience, this will take about
two complete trips around the gauge. On the second trip, you can pry more
away from the gauge body and use a larger screwdriver. On the second trip you
should be prying more away from the gauge body than up.
Lift the gauge body off the bezel and you can clean the glass.
When you are ready to reassemble, be sure the glass has not picked up any
specks or fingerprints by looking thru the glass at a bright light. There
are few things more depressing than reassembling the bezel only to find a
first class finger print on the inside.
To reassemble the bezel, place the gauge upside down on a piece of hard,
thin material. I use a piece of 1/4 inch thick rigid plastic. This material
will protect the front side of the bezel from plier marks. With the gauge
near the edge of the hard, thin material use a small pair of slip joint
pliers to grip the bottom of the hard, thin material and the bent up inside edge
of the bezel. Bend the inner edge of the bezel down against the body of
the gauge. Do this bending gently so you do not chip the glass. Slowly work
your way around the bezel bending the inner part of the bezel down without
leaving any unbent gaps. Two trips will do the job.
Have some fun,
SOBill Taylor
