Disregard every word I just wrote--I was thinking of Dick KOCH in Atlanta,
with his '74 GTS with a turbo setup. You're talking Mangusta.
Why do you believe that your Mangusta has Pantera mufflers on it? Got
photos to share?
Personally, I'd be working towards trying to get proper Mangusta mufflers
on the car--not a simple thing to do. The Mangusta mufflers were made by
ANSA and are nominally the same as those found underneath same-period V-12
Ferraris, although there are detail differences. Daryl Adams in Chicago
actually sent his whole Mangusta exhaust system to England, where Quicksilver
(England's best-known stainless steel custom exhaust manufacturer) duplicated
them perfectly (and I mean *perfectly*) in stainless steel. Assuming they
kept the patterns, it could be a simple matter to just get ahold of them and
have them bang out a set for you too.
