There are short water pumps adapted from a Japanese engine (White Power?)
and used in engine-swap street rods that might work, maybe along with a
custom set of pulleys to re-establish alignment. But these pumps aren't intended
for maximum cooling, only to fit a swapped-in engine, so I don't know what
the effect would be on a Pantera's running temperature. Or, as I did, you can
simply move the entire engine/ZF assembly back 3/4" on the stock engine
mounts while bending the ZF mounts into a shallow S.
The main effect of the commercial kits is, as someone said, for the
passenger seat. The commercial kits simply have a much smaller and tighter-fitting
bulkhead bulge around the stock waterpump while moving the alternator out of
the way. This includes a custom steel door and new upholstery to match. If
you spend much time in the passenger seat or have long-legged friends riding
with you, the relocation is well worth the small amount of trouble. FWIW- J
