[DeTomaso] A/C question

When I first got my car, with the stock York compress (still working good) it was bone dry, Accordingly to Larry Stock (he charged the system) at my first PC NC tech session it took 4 lbs? Ha...This seems to be one more Detomaso mystery?

Exactly, no.

I have looked at all the DT/Ford manuals, and asked on an auto AC  
forum.  Seems to be a mystery charge.

I've 'heard' three pounds as a start.

But a good AC tech will be able to charge by following low/high  
pressures in line with the ambient air temperature, instead of actual  
ounces.
