[DeTomaso] Rub my Belly!

I am not a big fan of single stage. The MG I jammed up single stage and
it just has an old car dull look. It just doesn't hold a candle to the
body which is base/clear. We had a local guy with an old Chevy Malibu
paint his body single stage. He tried to make it compete with the
base/clear paint jobs by waxing and shining it like crazy before every
car show. It was close but he rubbed through the paint by the end of the
summer. The following year he came back and I asked him "What did you
do, that looks outstanding?". He said he gave up and painted it
base/clear. It's hard to compete with a coat of clear on top of color as
well as the added thickness of durability.

> Gary, Your belly looks great. Are you going to base clear it or single stage? Did you say you used single stage in the jams and base clear on the outside? That is oppisite of what I do. I base clear the jambs because it dries fast and hard. That way I can tape them up the next day and use single stage all over the outside. Obviusly, I don't have the time you do... : } Bill 1362 LPB
