Dan,

What bedding in procedure did you use? Most brake pad manufacturers are
very specific about that. Hitting the track with fresh pads and rotors
sounds like a no-no.

Subject: [DeTomaso] Brake Conversion Options

I just had the front rotors turned and new pads for The Beast and within
10 laps at Laguna I got a real bad vibration and noticed hot spots on
the right front rotor, so I assume it's already been warped again. The
steering column shakes so bad on hard braking it feels like it's ready
to break loose.
The rotors and calipers are from a 69 Boss 429.
I'll be double checking to make sure the correct pads were used.
Assuming they were I may be next looking for a different set-up, to
handle the stopping requirements of track use.
It's been suggested I convert to late model Corvette brakes, has anyone
tried this?
Are there other options, besides the Willwood packages?

Dan Courtney
