[DeTomaso] GAS TANK VENT / Dick Ruzzin

Hi All.
My Mangusta has a vent on the back of the gas tank, engine side.  If i have fuel in the tank above 3/4 full and step on it in first gear gas runs out of the tube that goes to the bottom of the rear wheel opening, then to the ground..  It used to do it a little bit but now with my new engine it scares me.

Has anyone tried a vented gas cap?

Or, has anyone fitted some kind of roll-over check valve?
