[DeTomaso] parts mix up with new slave

II ordered a stock slave cylinder and a stock master and a braided steel
line ro replace the red plastic. The steel braided didint fit any off the
red plastic connections so I used the red plastic line The bleed screw broke
and then the red plasticline broke. I got a small bolt with the same thread
and an o ring to use temporarily so I could move the car. Well the
redplastic line broke and I tried to attach it to the metal rube fitting
that attaches to the slavedylinder but I couldn't get the red plastic to fit
so I could use it temporarily but I couldn't get a  seaa. Is their a tirck
to  the red plastic to the metal eube? ( like a heat gun?)  Also is there a
better small hose clamp then the standard hose clamp?
My connection leaked and the whole can of new dot4 ran right through.
