Drive it and drive it hard!
I went back to Laguna Seca today to pick up The Beast and the trailer and there was a group on the track.
It turned out to be a group called TrankMasters.
They let me sign in as a walk-up and I got to run a couple of afternoon sessions!
>From gettng to know the track a little better I was able to get by wiitout using 2nd for turn 2, 5 or the corkscrew and only needed to downshift into 2nd at the hairpin (11), so I'm less concerned about the ZF for now.
Plus, I want to be sure the car is together for Jim Saxton's track event at Willow Springs next month, and I don't need 2nd at that track at all.
Unless I can find a real fast re-builder, I may delay this to a winter project.
By the way, TrackMasters appently runs several events at Thunderhill and Sears Point, plus they are returning to Laguna in Dec.

  Dan,
I wish I would have checked my emails on Sunday
I was thinking of doing the Laguna thing but then
decided to go to the mile flat track motorcycle race
in Stockton... too many things going on... We had
5 Panteras blessed on Saturday.. my car needs
all the blessing it can get.. I also heard the Palos Verdes
  show was really nice

Glad there are so many cars out and about instead
of just sitting and remaining a 100 mile car... yes
that one is just around the corner from my shop

As our old friend Tony used to say and Larry keeps
  reminding us DRIVE IT

  Bob Benson #3 Black Pantera

Oh Dan the Gear is about $1600 plus
$500 to polish and depending on how many
sincros... I would say figure $2500 to $3000
