[DeTomaso] No pantera content (Edsel Ranchero)

I also ran across one of these things, years ago in Oklahoma. It was at a house, I stopped and talked to the owner, who also had a Edsel convertible in the garage. He told me that it had been owned by a flower shop prior. He indicated to me that it was factory, but I haven't been able to back it up with any know documentation anywhere, Most people think the man was lying to me and that it would have been a station wagon converted. If it was a conversion they did one fine job. I took pictures, but with a poor quality camera. Several years after I tried to contact him. I talked to his wife and found out he had passed away. It would seem that some Edsel club should have "the rest of the story". I would sure like to know the facts.

This afternoon I passed a 58-59 "Ranchero."  It had Edsel taillights and Edsel front end.  Was this a put together job or did they actually make an Edsel Rancero.  It was done very well so it looked like the real thing.  I've jut never seen one, if it was for real.
