[DeTomaso] Ignition key stuck in lock

Brake cleaner is more caustic than carb cleaner. Be sure to use the little red plastic hose from your can of WD40
to direct spray only into the lock opening. And hold a rag around the lock cylinder to protect any painted parts and
avoid over spray splash.

I believe CRC BrakeClean will dissolve plastic. Another (safer) option is CRC Electrical Contact Cleaner. It also
dissolves grease and oil, but it's guaranteed safe for plastics.

Won't Carb cleaner spoil the finish on the sterring column paint and melt plastic parts?

Maybe Brake Clean, we use that on the R/C toys because it won't harm electronics or the plastic parts.
