[DeTomaso] More cruise control issues

Chris,
 
The speed sensor is a standard Hall effect circuit with an  open collector 
transistor output which needs a pull up resistor.
 
The Dakota Digital instruction manual doesn't say if the VSS input  channel 
provides a pull up resistor. You will have to take your chances with  
Dakota tech support.
 
The manual doesn't make sense regarding the tach input. It says  connect 
the tach input to the negative side of the coil (which will  provide ~ 200 
volt transients at each plug firing .... or multiple firing) or  connect it to 
an MSD box tach output signal (which will provide a 12V square  wave). In 
addition, if you have an MSD box, the coil is driven by a capacitive  
discharge circuit and should have no additional connections to either coil  terminal.
