Hang in there bubba!!!  You'll pick off the problems one by one.....  I could tell you tales of Goose issues and bubbling and steaming and a rebuild, and something else, and now a rebuild.....and then a cracked chassis!  It never ends.

You are not far from getting your coolant system sorted.  Just frustrating....  You didn't start from new, so have to deal with all the little things that turn out to be bigger things......

I second or third the bleeder "bung" thing!  I have one on the top fitting of my intake manifold, on the block side vs the radiator hose side of the t-stat. This allows me to fill the system until the bubbles stop, and I then know at least my block is full!  A couple of similar cycles and off ya go...deal with the over flow tank level after that!

Hang in there! IT IS WORTH IT!  (But you know that!!! :)    )
