Chris,
 
The tach wire from the MSD to the adapter will be a 12V  signal. It will 
not damage your CC.
 
The tach signal from the tach adapter to the Pantera tach has 200  volt 
transients which is not what your CC needs.
 
The issue of actual vehicle speed from the transmission or  inferring 
vehicle speed from a tach signal is an issue of signal  frequency. Standard 
speedo signal sources produce 1,000 pulses per  mile. A Pantera in 5th gear at 60 
mph will  produces approximately 8,000 tach pulses per mile.
 
I wouldn't use the tach signal. If you put the clutch in and the  engine 
rpm falls the CC will open the throttle to try and keep the rpm  up.
